Old Bolt Gun Match:  Our annual Old Bolt Gun Match will be held January 6th, 2007.  The course of fire will

be the usual High Power Course that we fire each month.  To be eligible for awards, competitors must fire a

military rifle with issue sights and stock.  ANY military rifle other than the M1, M14/M1A or AR15 may be used.

Those wishing to shoot for practice may fire any rifle.  This is not an NRA match and scores will not be forwarded

to the NRA.

Bad Weather Note:  As a reminder, during the winter months when roads become icy, our matches are cancelled.

Alabama Junior Olympics:  On November 11 the Blue and Gray hosted the Alabama Smallbore Junior

Olympics.  The match was a great success because of the phenomenal volunteer turnout from the Blue and Gray

Club.  Special thanks to the following volunteers for their support:  Bob Bakula, Richard Peters, Danny Ayers,

Rex Mills, and Mark Robinson for working safety; Kirby Rutland and Michelle Parker for working concessions;

Steve Parker, Gary Reisenwitz, Mike Rutland, Jared Cassidy, Dennis Rideout, Pam Rideout for scoring all the

targets; and Shelia Fox and Rachel Fox for working registration.  Special thanks also to Howard Pitts who was

the Match Coordinator and Dan Fox who was match Director.  Dennis Rideout volunteered his time to fabricate

the 20 new target frames we used for this match and Gary Reisenwitz made the bases for 10 stands so that they

could be used at 50 feet on the 100 yard line.  Thank you both for all of your hard work.   The frames are now

going to be used by the Pot Shots.

Results of the match - In the Women's match - Evelyn Reisenwitz of Huntsville (Blue and Gray Club) took the

gold with a 461 out of 600, Mary Ann Banks of Huey, AL took the Silver with a 457 out of 600, and Emily

Edmonds of Morris, AL took the bronze with a 276 out of  600.  In the Men's match - Brian Carstensen from

Hoover, AL took the men's gold medal and Daniel Fox from Huntsville, AL (Blue and Gray Club) took the men's

silver in a nail-biting tie match with 562 out of 600 possible points. The tie was broken in a paper match which

Brian won.   Both boys earned an invitation to the National Jr. Olympics in Colorado Springs, Co in March of

2007.  Michael Richardson of Helena, AL took the bronze medal with 557 out of 600.
