Actions Taken: Lead Reclamation: It is time for lead reclamation on the range per our agreement with TVA.
It is anticipated that this activity will occur this summer. The contractor believes the job can be done in 2 or 3 days
during the week. The range will be closed for firing during the reclamation period. Hopefully we will get enough
notice from the contractor to announce the specific dates in a later bulletin.
Target House: It is planned to replace the Target House in 2008. A special work party may be called to
help accomplish the replacement.
200 yard Bench Cover: It had been planned to provide some kind of cover for the 200 yd benches.
However, the Club President likes having the sun on him while shooting off those benches during cold weather.
As an interim solution, when the weather gets hot, a holder for a cheap beach umbrella will be left with the benches
and the umbrella stored in the target house.
Bulletin: Due to problems with getting the monthly bulletin out in a timely manner and the logistical problems
associated with publication of a hard copy bulletin, the possibility of going to publication of the bulletin
on the club web-site ONLY was discussed. There would be cost saving of about $900/year by giving up
the mailed bulletins. After some discussion, the members in attendance felt the club should continue with the
mailed bulletins.
Precision Rifle Match: A bench match was held Jan. 16th on the 200yard range. 16 shooters participated.
Firing was done from prone with rifle rests. The core of the match was 5 shots at 4 splash targets for score. The
smallest group got 5 additional points. No sighters or fouling shots are allowed. Laura Perry won the match with
a score only 1 point below the maximum. The match director issues “Tee Times” for those that register via e-mail.
Another match is scheduled for Feb. 16. You can get on the pre-registration list by emailing the
match director, Mike Charness, at mcharness@comcast.net.
