Membership Renewal:  This will be the LAST bulletin for those that have not renewed their membership.  It is planned to change the combination to the locks late in March.

Pistol Activities:  Pistol matches will be conducted the third Saturday of each month, starting on March 17th.  The format is a typical NRA 900 match, 30 rounds slow fire, 30 rounds timed fire, and 30 rounds rapid fire, all shot at 25 yards.  We shoot two 900 point matches, one with the .22 and one with centerfire.  If you only have a .22, feel free to shoot it for both matches.
Shooting commences at 9:00 am.  Arrive a bit early to help set up.  We're normally finished by Noon.  Cost is only $5.00 to help keep us in targets.  Scores are not reported to the NRA.
If you have any questions, please contact our Pistol Chairman, John Lindberg, at (256) 679-9361 or by email at lindbergjohn@hotmail.com.

John C. Garand Match:  A CMP sanctioned Garand Match and Modified Garand Match will be held on 31. March on the Blue and Grey 200 yard range. Any J.C. Garand Match legal rifle, or modified (national match) Garand can be fired.  The J.C. Garand rifles and the N.M. rifles will compete in separate categories. 55 rounds of .30 Govt. (good ol’ M2 ball) ammunition will be provided for the JCG match Garands, the carbine shooters will furnish their own ammo. A few loaner Garands, 1903A3's, and some other equipment will be available. If you show up empty handed, you will be able to shoot! All early entries will get a JCG match tee shirt, and, if we're lucky, we'll have a few cold drinks.  For more details, and the forms to sign up, go to the Blue and Grey web site or Alabamaservicerifleteam.com.  Remember, this is a fun match, and is perfect for those just starting out. We'll help you get your rifle sighted in, or answer any questions that you have.  All proceeds from this match go toward sending the Service Rifle Team to Camp Perry. Questions??? Registered Match:  The Club is planning an 80 shot Registered 100 yard High Power match for April 7th.  The primary purpose is to establish National records for 80 shot 100 yard Team matches in the Senior (60 and older), Junior and other categories such as Police and Service.  HOWEVER, you may fire as an individual if you so wish.  The entry fee will be $6.00/shooter for the Team match and $20.00 for individual entries.  You must enter the Individual match to be eligible for Individual awards.  Appropriate awards will be given for each stage of the match as well as the Aggregate in the Individual match.

Prone Smallbore:  We are planning to continue Smallbore Prone shoots in 2007.  These will be 40 shots at the 50 yd target and 40 shots at 100 yards.  These shoots will be held at the same time as the 1st Pot Shot session of the month.  The shoots will not be held during the summer months.  Contact Howard Pitts on 931-993-6122 for more information.

High Power Practice:  It is planned to hold practice shoots on the Saturdays at the AEDC range prior to the Full Course matches there on Sunday.  These shoots may be confined to no more than 300 yards.  Contact Todd Taylor on 759-8064 if you wish to participate.  Also there may be practice shoots on some Wednesday afternoons on that range.  Contact James Moses on 534-7968 if you would like to be notified of the Wednesday shoots.

Carl Rideout – Distinguished Expert:  Carl Rideout, 16 year old Pot-Shot member has completed the rigid requirements to become a Distinguished Expert in 4 Position Smallbore Rifle. He began his quest at the age of 8, but his studies, scouts and many other activities slowed his pace.  His determination and strong parental support saw him through the most difficult portion of the program.  Congratulations to Carl who now belongs to a unique group of shooters.  The Rideout family is also unique.  Parents Dennis and Pam are both former Pot-Shots as well as (Expert) big brother John.
