100 yard Team Match: A 4 person 80 shot team match was held May 5th at the range. We had a turn out of 31
shooters. These shooters comprised 7 teams and 3 shooters firing as individuals. There were 11 Juniors firing and
we are always happy to have the next generation of shooters present. The Shelby Co. (AL) junior team established a
National record for this course of fire. The match was well received and we plan to do it again next year. There are
still National records to be established for Seniors (60 and over), police, women and military.
June 100 yd High Power: The shooters liked the 80 shot format, hence we are going to shoot an 80 shot Individual
match on June 2nd on a trial basis. The entry fee will be $20.00. The higher fee will allow us to give awards for each
stage of the match. The match will be conducted the same as our 50 shot matches; but with 20 shots on each target.
We began the 100 yard matches when the DCM(CMP) issued 150 rds of free ammo/year/shooters of record. We
didn’t want the new guys to have to shoot up over half their issue to fire the match. Since the ammo issue question has
gone away, we will give 80 shots a try. If you don’t like the 80 shot matches do NOT suffer in silence. Let us know about it.

Bulletin Problems: Brooks Glover has changed jobs and we have had trouble getting the bulletin out in the transition.
We are working to get things back on schedule. However the bulletin is posted on the Club web-site as soon as it goes to
printer.
Junior Olympics: Daniel Fox II, a member of the junior competition air / smallbore team was invited to attend the Junior
Olympic events conducted last month at the Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs. He shot in both events, the 60 shot
10 meter International Air and the 60 shot 50 meter 3 Position smallbore match. He placed third in the Nation with a Bronze
medal in the J3 age group in International Air. He placed 1st in the nation with a Gold medal in the J3 age group in 3 Position
smallbore. He also set a new National record in 3P smallbore for a J3. On April 21 the entire junior competition team won
Gold Medals for taking a first place finish in the Alabama Junior Olympic 3 position air rifle championships. Our junior competition
team is the best in the State for precision air rifle! The team, comprised of Halie Pitts, Evelyn Reisenwitz, Carl Rideout, and Daniel
Fox will be traveling to Bowling Green, KY for the National 3P Air Championship match in July.
