Tullahoma Matches: The Club is sponsoring an 80 shot match at the TN National Guard range outside
Tullahoma on Nov. 11th. This will be the combined AL/TN High Power Championship. Since that match
will be held after the end of Daylight Savings Time, the start time will be 8:00 a.m. Entry fee will be $30.00.
Regular monthly matches at Tullahoma are anticipated for 2007.
Junior Olympic Championship: Blue and Gray will be hosting a Junior Olympic Shooting Competition (JOSC) on
November 11. Volunteers are needed to assist with non-technical support (safety, registration, concessions, scoring,
match jury) jobs during the following blocks of time 7:00am - 11:00am; 10:30am - 2:30pm; and 2:00pm - 6:00pm. If
you are available to assist during one or more of these times, please contact Dan Fox - deugenefox@bellsouth.net - and
let him know of your availability.
M1 Only Match: The annual M1 Garand match will be fired on Dec. 2nd. Any M1 Garand with issue sights
may be used. Following the M1 match there will be an M1 Carbine match. The course of fire for both
events will be the National Match Course. These are not NRA matches and the scores will not be sent in
for classification purposes. Other rifles may be fired for practice. The primary differences between this
match and the recently fired John C. Garand match is that “Accurized” M1’s can be fired in this match and
the National Match Course is to be fired in this match.
As a side note, Kirk Paradise won the John C. Garand match over some 2 dozen competitors. Congratulations Kirk!
Range Safety: A report was received concerning Steel targets. Apparently, someone was using a steel target on
the pistol range and let the plate pivot so that, possibly, ricochets could occur. Remember, keep all bullets on range
property.
